1. A killer gift department
If I had a dollar for every time I heard that people didn't know we had such an extensive gift department with so many cute things, I'd be a very wealthy woman. Most pharmacies have some sort of gift section, but most don't have as much or nearly the variety that Webb's does. Since we bear the name of "pharmacy", people don't tend to think of us as much more than a place to get their prescriptions or over the counter medications...and then they venture past the Tylenol and Bandaids and find all kinds of fun goodies! We sell beautiful home decor, women’s accessories, sports memorabilia, garden flags, serving ware, baby gifts and old fashioned wooden toys. That is just the tip of the iceberg! 2. Compounding Capital of the area
Custom compounding is becoming a lost art in the pharmaceutical world. Not many pharmacies offer this service anymore, especially in our area. Compounding is the art and science of making custom medications to meet the needs of a patient, whether it be due to sensitivity to an ingredient in a traditional drug, no response to traditional drugs or just that it needs flavored to make it easier to take. Some medicines just taste bad. There's no way to get around that, however we can provide the proverbial "spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down" as the wise Mary Poppins once sang. We can easily flavor liquid medications into something a bit easier to get down. Just ask us! Please note that these medications are only obtained through a prescription; therefore, must be discussed with your physician.
3. DME
DME stands for durable medical equipment, which pretty much means any in-home equipment that provides therapeutic benefits to a patient because of a medical condition or disease. DME is a pretty wide term that encompasses everything from ambulatory aids like walkers and crutches to bathroom safety equipment and support stockings. We have an entire showroom of items to help face the challenges of aging, recovery from surgery or change in lifestyle.
4. Aids for Daily Living
This is one that really surprises people. We have an entire wall of devices that aid in those everyday tasks that a fully functioning, independent person may take for granted. We have reachers, arthritis aids, gait belts, cushions, and so much more! Everything you need to live as independently and safely as possible.
5. Gourmet chocolates
Fannie May and South Bend chocolates. They're decadent and delicious. Need I say more?
6. Med trays
Many of our customers take advantage of this convenient service. We will take your prescriptions and package them according to prescribed dosage, frequency and the time of day to be taken day by day for a week at a time. This cuts down on noncompliance due to memory loss, special needs, having multiple medications or just not keeping track of if you or your loved ones took their pills. The best part is that you don't even have to be an existing customer to use this service! You can just drop off your medications and we will take care of it. However, switching to Webb's Family Pharmacy is super easy! You just tell us your current pharmacy, give us your information and we will make the necessary calls!
7. Rich history
The building at 724 Main Street has been a pharmacy since it was first built in the 1800s. It's the only building that old in Rochester to provide the same service through its entire lifespan. Harry, the current owner, has owned it since 1990.
8. Essential Oils
We even have customers in mind who want to live a more natural, drug and chemical free lifestyle! Our variety of essential oils is always growing and changing. This department has really taken off in the last few years with the trend of living a more natural, holistic lifestyle and we LOVE it!
9. Special orders
To say we specialize in oddities might not be the best way to put it, but it does describe the place some days. One service we pride ourselves on is being able to special order items. Whether it be a different size or a product not commonly found, we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
